I’m sure this moment is absolutely painful to go through and you are praying for God to give you a financial breakthrough. It may feel as though you are barely making ends meet and never have enough money to make it through the week, much less the whole month!
Before you go and blame your tough time on your family members, your job, or the government, let’s first sit down and try to figure out what the root of your financial situation might really be.
You may already see where I am heading with this conversation, and you are already screaming at the computer screen, “There is nooo way that I have fallen for the love of money!” But before you close out of this article, listen to a few wise words from the Bible as well as from some great authors in regards to the roots of your financial troubles.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
1 Timothy 6:10

I find it interesting that both of those quotes I mentioned above use the word “seduce” to describe the relationship between us and money. This is such an honest depiction of what happens when we start to earn money for the first time.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. LESSON 1: They Do Not Go Away With The Snap of a Finger
Overcoming your financial difficulty will take time as we read in Proverbs, “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” (Proverbs 21:5 NIV)
Even if you choose to become more generous with your financial resources, this does not mean God will automatically take you out of your hard times. God’s blessings do not work like a vending machine.
OR it may seem like a good idea to hustle your way to earning more money. But your money problems will simply grow larger if you try to only make them go away through your own hard work and more money. It will only increase your own trouble just as we read again in Proverbs.
Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.

LESSON 2: Learn to Be Content Through Tough Times
You may feel as though the best thing for your situation is a financial miracle. But worldly wealth will not make all of your financial problems go away. In fact, it may make your life more challenging.
I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

God may be trying to teach you to be content and to trust him through your financial struggles. He may be testing you to see if your heart trusts him completely. Because when you do trust him and learn to be content in your painful toil, peace will come to you knowing that all of your financial needs will be met at the right time.
LESSON 3: Don’t Underestimate the Power of Financial Planning
Just because you are going through a time of financial struggle doesn’t mean you can’t work on your personal money management. In fact, God even tells us that we should be faithful with little so that he knows we can be faithful with more!
One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
Luke 16:10 ESV
It is a really great idea to start learning good money management habits NOW so that when the time is right and God DOES bless you with abundance, you will know exactly how God would want you to be spending your money. So take the time now to work on creating a budget!

Learn to pray over your finances often and without restraint as you communicate your pain to the Lord. God is strong enough to handle all of your worries and fears. He hears you and longs to bless you abundantly with his glorious riches, but only when the moment is right.
Don’t just pray like throwing pennies in the wishing well. Pray that your heart may be transformed and that you can grow closer to God in the midst of your financial struggles.
