5 Steps to Biblically Redeeming Your Finances
The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”
Ezekiel 37:1-3
Are your finances like the valley of bones that Ezekiel came across?
Dry, no sign of life, not bearing fruit, and practically no chance of revival…
God is asking you – can your financial situation be revived? Can it be fruitful? Can it live?
And the answer is YES!
God desires a revival – a redemption of your financial situation.
Let’s take a look at 5 things that Ezekiel did to bring these dry bones back to life and how YOU can apply these same things to your own dried-up financial situation so you too can begin biblically redeeming your finances.
5 Steps to Biblically Redeeming Your Finances
1) Don’t Give Excuses
When God first asked Ezekiel if the bones could live, Ezekiel did not immediately respond with a list of excuses as to why the bones COULDN’T live.
Even though to any doctor, scientist, or knowledgeable human being would never give even a second thought to those bones, Ezekiel gave no excuse for why they couldn’t come to life again.
I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”
How many times have you given excuses as to why you haven’t been saving money? Or why you have tons of debt? Or why you just can’t get ahead with your money?
God doesn’t want our excuses. He doesn’t even want an explanation. Because the reality is that he already knows WHY our finances are so dried up.
It’s time to quit whining and take responsibility. No more excuses!

2) Believe It’s Possible With God
After God asked Ezekiel if the bones could live, he then told Ezekiel to bring them back to life!
And what did Ezekiel do? Did he doubt God? Did he second guess Him? Did he tell God that it wasn’t possible? Did he not try because he knew that on paper, all signs were pointing to no?
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
Ezekiel 37:4-6
Far from it!
Without hesitation, Ezekiel did what the Lord told him to do. Why? Because he knew that all things are possible with God! Ezekiel believe that God could use him to bring the bones back to life.
Do you believe that your financial situation can have life again? Do you believe that GOD can bring life into your finances?
It’s time for YOU to trust that financial revival is possible for you through God alone.

3) Take Inspired Action
When God told him what to do he did exactly that.
He took Inspired Action.
So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
Ezekiel 37:7-8
Our own financial revival takes action. Action that is inspired by the Lord. And God wants to use YOU to bring your finances back to life.
Sure, he could have brought those dry bones back to life without Ezekiel’s help. But he chooses to use us.
Not only that, but God does promise to make our paths straight, but what do we have to do in order for him to make our paths straight? You got it… TRUST, have FAITH.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

What If God Doesn’t Tell Me What to Do?
If you are not getting any inspired actions from the Lord, let me ask you this…
- Are you still making excuses for your poor financial situation?
- Do you believe that God truly wants what is best for you and can actually revive your situation?
- Are your motives in the right place when you are asking for inspired actions?
- Are you still trying to hustle and grind your way out of it?
I would INSPIRE you to journal and pray about these things.
If you want to continue the journey to biblically redeem your finances come to the Lord with your concerns and he will surely guide your path if you have pure motives.

4) Trust God for the Results
Let’s also take a look at what Ezekiel did by examining what he DIDN’T do.
Once Ezekiel prophesied over the dry bones, he did not proceed to go try to put the bones back together himself to make them live. He let God put the bones back together.
God wants our full trust that He will do what he has promised to do. When the Israelites were brought out of Egypt and released from their captivity as slaves they wandered for 40 years.
Why?
Because even though they had heard God’s promise, to bring them to the land of abundance, they didn’t have faith.
For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.
Hebrews 4:2
Follow God’s instructions on how to manage your finances, and then trust him to do the redeeming. The results are always up to God.
5) Give All Credit to God Alone
After Ezekiel did what God had told him to do, God gave him one more task. To tell people what God has done so he alone could be glorified.
Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.’”
Ezekiel 37:12-14
God is the one who provides true revival in our lives and in our finances.
Yes, he does use us in the process, but ultimately all results come from him alone, therefore all the glory goes to him!
In order for you to biblically redeem your finances celebrate what God is doing in your own finances with others so that he may get the glory.
